About

Hello!  My name is Debra Boss.  I have practiced as a Registered Dental Hygienist in Southern NJ for over 25 years.  During the last couple decades, I have worked in several areas of dentistry including Periodontics, Prosthodontics, Orthodontics and General Dentistry, which have given me the experience I need to tackle any patient’s oral hygiene challenges.  If you have plaque control issues, you’ve come to the right place.  I can help you.

The most common response I get from patients after teaching them OHI:  “No one has ever explained it like that before.”  So, if you have been frustrated with your floss, I can untangle your fingers and give you a few key techniques which will be a game changer at your next dental cleaning.  My site offers tried and true instructions to fit patient’s needs of all ages.

My mission is to educate the general public on the most widespread and easily preventable disease in the world:  GINGIVITIS.  But first, let me explain what gingivitis is.  It simply means ‘inflammation of the gingiva,‘ aka:  your gums.  Most do not consider gingivitis to be a serious condition until they learn of the links between oral bacteria and other serious health conditions such as heart disease, dementia and preterm birth,  just to name a few.

The best way to prevent oral bacteria from entering the bloodstream and compromising our other systems is to prevent injury and inflammation to the gums.  By preventing or reversing gingivitis, this is easily accomplished.  85% of Americans have this form of gum disease.  And trust me on this one….if you are NOT flossing daily, chances are you are walking around with it too.  The majority of people could easily prevent it with good basic home-care skills.  I have lots teach you.  Welcome to healthy gums 🙂
